unbelievable how little time they get from selecting the boat to the actual championships

Especially with the visa problem to be sorted as well. I expect the Byelorussian embassy will be raking in the express visa issuing fees this week.

I think you may find that all potential team members had to hand their visas in a while back.
Queues of proud mum and dads are expected in the Kensington area though!

4X is a much tougher event at worlds level than 4- but the GB selectors don't send anyone without at least 'A' final speed , which they would have had to show already
